Contacts without a prescription
People who wear contacts lenses will appreciate the corrective vision that they provide. Contact lenses have always been used as a medical device to correct eye conditions that lead to vision impairment.
If you don’t need eye correction but would still like to use colour contact lenses, then there is a non-corrective lens known as plano contact lenses.
They are a cosmetic fashion lens that comes with zero corrective powers. Colour contact lenses are extremely popular because they enhance and alter the colour of your eye. The main purpose of colour contact lenses are for aesthetic and not corrective reasons.
The colour lens covers the iris to give a new effect, and not physically change the colour of your eyes. There are two types available – opaque and enhancement contact lenses. Opaque contact lenses 100% block the colour of your iris allowing patterned images to be created. Enhancement contact lenses only highlight your current eye colour. These lenses are ideal for those who want a subtle yet positive change in their appearance.
Whether you are wearing the colour contact lenses for cosmetic or corrective reasons, it is advised that you have an eye test as usual from your opticians. Although contact lenses (including the non-prescription ones) are non prescription, they are not a “one size fits all”. The curvature of the eye differs from one person to the next so its advised to ensure the cosmetic lenses will be suitable for your eyes.
Long exposure to the wrong type of “ill-fitting” coloured lenses could lead to eye problems. Remember you only have one pair of eyes, don’t risk them for the sake of aesthetic looks by wearing them for prolonged times.
There are many various patterns for plano lenses along with fresh colour contact lenses. These lens provide natural enhancement for your eyes.
